Jamal began his playing career with the King Dogo Babies, a colts Club in Accra (Ghana) before joining Pollo Academy, an Academy owned by former Ghana star Mohammed Ahmed Polo.
Having excelled in his Youth career with King Dogo Babies and Pollo Academy, the player was drafted into the MTN Soccer Academy, a reality show in Ghana where he emerged winner in 2009, a year after being named as one of the finalist for the Aspire football Africa.
His exploits at the MTN Soccer Academy caught the attention of several Clubs in Ghana including giants Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak who had all expressed interest in signing the young talent.
The player however opted to join Sporting Mirren in 2010, a then newly-promoted side in the Ghana Premier League.
After a brief spell with Mirren, Jamal made a swift move to former Ghana Premier League Champions Berekum Chelsea where he signed a two-year contract with the Club.
Midway through his career at Chelsea, the player secured his first foreign deal in 2011 when he got an opportunity to join Dutch Club, FC Twente after winning the Yokahama U20 tournament in Germany with the youth team of Berekum Chelsea.
He later moved to Greek Club Atromitos to sign a three-year contract with the Club. However, the player’s excellent career was marred by an injury which kept him out for almost a year.
He later joined KF Gjilani after returning from his long-term setback before eventually moving to his currently Club AC Kajaani in Finland after rejecting offers from other clubs in Kosovo, Macedonia and Albania.
